Tributes from the Rotary Club of South East Nassau β
Our club lost a gentle giant in Immediate Past President (IPP) Johann Bain. He came into our Rotary family 14 years ago and brought with him a dedication and commitment to the success and progress of our club that we admire and respect. Though quiet and unassuming by some accounts, IPP Johann worked tirelessly for many years in our Club Administration Portfolio. In fact, to many for a very long time (and maybe always), IPP Johann was our Club Administration Portfolio. In serving as President last year (2022-2023), we had the opportunity to see a different side of him, and I think we all agree that we are so grateful that he was able to do us that honor. We share, in our own way, the sorrow of having to say farewell to a man who displayed the ethical standards and character of a great Rotarian. We will miss IPP Johann, but we will find strength in the memories he gifted us.

Tribute from the Public Image team of the Rotary Club of South East Nassau
Our Immediate Past President Johann's passing leaves a large void for our public relations team and the Rotary Club of South East Nassau. He was part of our Rotary family for 14 years and our hearts are heavy with this loss. Johann took care of the Bulletin for many years and helped us with the website and social media. He worked tirelessly and showed up to serve many community projects, fundraisers, and the younger Rotary extension clubs. Our Johann was a patient, gentle, kind, humble man who taught us grace. We extend our condolences to Johannβs family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

PP Bryan Russell
I was so shocked y'all were able to get him in the President's chair. He was always so quiet and behind the scenes. Glad we got to see another side of him.

Oh, this breaks my heart. Johann was such a good young man with a bright future before him. He recently became a member of Jamaal and I lodge and it was really good to see another side of him and he was giving his all to the lodge as well. He will be missed.

PP Sean Blyden
As is the same for each of you I am shocked and extremely saddened. IPP Johann was such a very good person, a professional, always willing to help, always with a kind word. I know it is easy to find ways to say good things about a fallen friend, but in the case of Johann it is all so true. He toiled and toiled behind the scenes producing our meetings and bulletins over the past many years. He WAS the Club Administration! And he never complained. But enough about me and how I may be feeling. My heart goes out to his family. Grr! I am saddened and angry at the same time. IPP Johann was true gentleman, and a true gem. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for bringing him into my life!

PP Calnan Weech
Saddened to hear of his passing, we lost a great man. Prayers for his family. This is most difficult to absorb yet alone comprehend. Prayers for his family and all of us who will mourn his passing. I deem it an honor to have known him and sponsor him into Rotary and watch him serve in excellence (in his quiet but effective way).
The Rotaract Club of South East Nassau Centennial extends our sincerest condolences.
President Eboni Russell
I know, just doesn't feel true yet. We'll all be taking some time to let it sink in. I thoroughly enjoyed my daily walks with him every morning during last year's Walk Challenge, and also daily chats during the Gratitude Challenge and I thank the Committee from those years for giving me that chance to get to know Johann better.
