Last week DG Deborah Howell visited the Rotary Clubs in The Bahamas. On Wednesday she met with the board of directors of RCSEN and reviewed the projects that we have been doing and took a look at our goals and plans for the future. The DG was pleased with the work RCSEN has been doing and offered advice for further improvement.
The following day (Thursday), the RCOB Foundation Gala was held at the Police Convocation Hall. Numerous members from RCSEN received Paul Harris awards and some of the members were multiple Paul Harris recipients. Two members of the community Ean Maura and Dexter Bodie were also awarded with Paul Harris Fellow awards from RCSEN who made contributions to the Rotary Foundation on their behalf.
On Friday a joint club social was held and members from all clubs got to relax and socialize with the DG in a more informal setting. To top the exciting week off, an all club community service project was held on Saturday. The clubs repaired damages to the exterior of the Salvation Army building on Meadow Street and then painted the entire building. The impact that the Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas have in our community was demonstrated to the DG this past week and Rotary continues to make great strides in improving our community and the world that we live in.
