The Rotary Club of South-East Nassau invites all persons under the age of 18 to participate in its 1st Annual ART COMPETITION.

The theme is IMPRESSIONS OF A FOREIGN COUNTRY and art work should represent an original scene, location or place representing an impression of a country where Rotary International is present.

 

 

Art work should be no smaller than 8 1/2" X 11" and no larger than 18" X 36" and can be on any media; paper, canvas, wood, etc. and can be composed with oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, colored pencils or charcoal.

Artwork should be accompanied by a mini-essay (maximum 100 words) describing the geographic location of the scene and why that place was chosen. An example would be Haiti after the earthquake, skyscrapers in New York, Snow covered streets in Montreal, Canada or Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.

All art pieces will be exhibited during March 2012 where the student artists can sell their work.

Art work will be judged by leading Artists and a panel of Rotarians with a $300 cash prize and trophy for first place and a $200 cash prize and trophy for second place.

Interested artists should email rotarycsen@gmail.com to register for the competition. All art entries must be accompanied with the completed form shown below must be delivered to the office of the Scholarship Division of the Ministry of Education on Shirley Street by the 18th February 2012.
