Our speaker last week was Rotarian Lithera Dorsett.  Lithera has certifications in Human Resources, Professional Bookkeeping and Accounting and is the owner of Diamond and Treasure's Funfoods & Party World a business she started in 2008.

Lithera said we have talents that we don't identify or don't think it is good enough for a business idea.  After observing her sister's party business and being a clown at a party she was coaxed to assist in the business more.  She had a good job, but after her family expanded she realized she needed a second income.  She started asking to assist her sister and went to face and body art shows to perfect her talent of face painting.  She then moved into concession items like cotton candy, pop corn, hot dogs, snow cones and candy apples.  She later purchased tents, tables, chairs and bouncing castles.

Cooking, a passion of hers was also added to her business and this afforded her the opportunity to cater to corporate businesses, hotels, community initiatives especially youth programs and private events.  She provides packages to fit every budget and tries to accommodate the customer in every way possible and provide the best possible service.

The business has helped her family and she loves providing the service to her customers.  She plans to expand her business to a storefront.  Lithera encouraged us to use our talents and gifts.  She said that if one wants to start a business, those talents and gifts can be used to start one.

At the end of the job talk Lithera treated the club to samples of some of her delightful creations.
