Last week our speaker was our very own Assistant Governor, AG Deidree Bain, who helped us to kick off “membership and New Development Month” AG Deidree identified ways to make clubs more flexible and spoke on understanding the value of accommodating member’s needs. The research has shown that when clubs have more freedom on how they hold meetings, choose prospective members and define engagement that they are more vibrant and experience more growth. The 2022 Council on Legislation approved further changes to allow for such flexibility. Clubs can be flexible in the meeting format, the frequency, attendance, membership types and club models. Meetings can take place in a traditional format, hybrid format, service project meeting or a gathering at a member’s home. We were encouraged to innovate and try different ideas in order to change the world. Rotary’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment was also discussed and clubs were encouraged to continue following RI’s DEI commitment and be inclusive to all. AG Deidree’s presentation was very timely and the club appreciated our AG coming to give this presentation to us.
