What's your full name?
Dr. Bridgette Rolle, JP
When did you join Rotary?
2004
What postions do you currently hold, and have previously held?
I held ALL positions in the club and the only Rotarian to hold the position of president twice, 2015/16 and 2017/18 respectively.
What is your fondest Rotary memory?
There are many, but taking a group of young professionals on a rotary expedition across the United States to visit several Rotary Clubs, including the Grand Canyon Rotary Club and Lake Havasu - where I received my first PHF for service above self. Then, when I connected the club to the Central Andros High School with our club was to me my most heart warming experience. I relive those precious moments with those kids, their farm, their goats, their welding program, their literacy program and their outstanding teacher, Mr. Ackloo, every single day. Then there were the moments when we shared our personal Christmas Day with some of the less fortunate in our community or coming up with the Nineteen Days of Christmas and having the Social Services Minster personally come and receive the tons of food boxes, gifts, and monies collected for this occasion. Or could it be the hundred of thousands of dollars raised during the clubs most successful Fun/Run/Walks, or the first ever Wine, Art & Jazz festival ever held in The Bahamas (Yes, I birth this idea, which took off like "wild fire" and made the club its first 40+ thousand dollars fundraising event). Alas, there are so many special moments.
What is your funny Rotary story?
It has to be when I was asked to be president for the third time. I thought that this was hillarious.
