Guest Speaker Spotlight: Dwayne Gibson – Chairman of R.E.A.C.H Bahamas
At our recent Rotary Club of South East Nassau lunch meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Dwayne Gibson, Chairman of R.E.A.C.H. (Resources and Education for Autism and Related Challenges) Bahamas, as our guest speaker. Mr. Gibson delivered a powerful and insightful presentation on the topic: “Understanding Autism in The Bahamas.”
He provided an in-depth look at the realities faced by individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, shedding light on the importance of early diagnosis, inclusive education, and community support. Mr. Gibson also emphasized the role that organizations like R.E.A.C.H. play in advocating for awareness, access to resources, and policy changes to improve the quality of life for persons living with autism.
The presentation sparked meaningful dialogue among members, reinforcing our club’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, education, and support for all members of our community. We thank Mr. Gibson for his passionate advocacy and for inspiring us to continue fostering environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Let us all do our part to support autism awareness and inclusion — not just during Autism Awareness Month, but every day.

RC South East Nassau makes Donation to the Cancer Society of The Bahamas
The Rotary Club of South East Nassau proudly donated $2,500 to the Cancer Society of The Bahamas in support of their ongoing cancer screening initiative. This contribution reaffirms our club’s commitment to promoting early detection and access to life-saving health services for Bahamians.
The Cancer Society's screening program plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis of cancer, especially among vulnerable populations. Our donation will help ensure that more individuals receive critical screenings, leading to earlier interventions and better outcomes.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with Rotary’s area of focus on disease prevention and treatment. We are honored to partner with the Cancer Society to support this vital cause.”
Together, we continue to serve and uplift our community—one initiative at a time.
