At our recent lunch meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ranique Forbes and Mischa Lockhart, the dynamic duo behind Certified Conch, as our guest speakers. Their engaging presentation focused on “The Interconnection of Bahamian Culture and the Environment.”
Ranique and Mischa highlighted how deeply rooted Bahamian traditions, particularly our relationship with the sea, are inseparable from our natural environment. From conch salad to Junkanoo, they explored how cultural expressions both reflect and impact our ecosystems. Their talk served as a powerful reminder that protecting our environment isn't just an ecological responsibility — it’s a way of preserving our national identity.
Members were captivated by their passion, knowledge, and innovative approach to environmental advocacy through cultural education. Certified Conch is not only sparking conversations but also inspiring action toward a more sustainable Bahamas.
We thank them for their time, insight, and commitment to protecting what makes The Bahamas truly unique.
