Nathaniel Adams: Wicked Wingz

Stories
Business Highlight: Wicked Wingz
-
Last week's speaker was Nathaniel Adams, the director and founder  of Rhythm N Youth and Wicked Wingz.  Nathaniel was a teacher at Gerald Cash Primary for 5 years, during which time he started a rack n scrape band called Rhythm N Youth.   The group performed locally and internationally.  Eventually the group was opened to members from other schools.  Nathaniel then taught at the Lyford Cay International School where he was the Junkanoo teacher.  He taught steel pan, junkanoo and rake n scrape there.  He would wake up as early as 4am to get ready for school and saw that the effort he was putting in would also be valuable when working for himself.  He became and entrepreneur in 2017.

During COVID, he saw pictures of food that persons were posting online and posted his own creations online.  Persons who saw his wings asked if they could buy them.  He sat down with his family and together they started selling the wings.  The first week they had 45 orders and the next week 100.  His business grew consistently.  He expanded and then got a mobile food truck with a commercial kitchen and now sells at events around the country.  Soon he will expand into a storefront.

He encouraged everyone listening to follow their dreams and always have a plan of where they want to be in the future.  He said that the point of living is to strive to be better tomorrow than we are today.  After the meeting, those in attendance got to sample the delicious wings that Nathaniel brought with him from Wicked Wingz.  I can say that they were some of the best I have ever tasted.
